A floral crochet garment can have raised roses, repeating flower motifs or a bright patchwork of daisies. The right choice depends on the shape you want to wear and the kind of stitching you enjoy.
Three designs in my collection offer different ways to build flowers into clothing: Rose Garden Jacket, African Flower Sweater and Daisy Sweater. Here is what to compare before choosing one.

Rose Garden Jacket: raised roses and a short shape
The Rose Garden Jacket pattern combines rose granny squares with ribbed finishing. The raised flowers give the surface a sculptural quality, so even a small section has a strong visual presence.
The listing describes the project as beginner/intermediate and includes written instructions and video tutorials. The published size-S sample is approximately 35 cm long plus 4 cm of ribbing, with a width of 54 cm. Treat those as sample measurements and check the pattern's available sizing before choosing your version.
This is a useful option if you want a short floral layer and like working on individual squares. Plan the background and edging colours as carefully as the roses: they are visible throughout the finished jacket.
African Flower Sweater: a pullover with floral motifs
The African Flower Sweater is listed as intermediate, in English using US terms. The listing describes one size to fit S/M/L, with an overall length of approximately 63 cm and sleeve length of approximately 50 cm.
That is a different sizing approach from separately graded instructions. Compare the finished shape and measurements carefully. The photographed grey version also shows how a restrained background can give colourful floral areas room to stand out.

Daisy Sweater: colour planning block by block
The Daisy Sweater pattern is listed as intermediate/advanced. It includes written instructions, charts, pictures and video links, and is available in several language versions.
Its separate blocks make it possible to organise the work in small sections. The listing also presents it as a way to use leftover yarn. For clothing, however, scraps still need to work together in gauge, fibre behaviour and care requirements. A collection of attractive colours is not enough if the squares finish at incompatible sizes.
Before making many blocks, complete one representative sample and compare it with the pattern's dimensions. Our granny square project planner can help you track the colours and pieces.

Which floral pattern suits your next project?
- Choose Rose Garden to explore raised rose squares in a shorter jacket shape.
- Consider African Flower for a floral pullover if its published single-size fit works for you.
- Consider Daisy if you enjoy detailed motifs and colour planning and are comfortable with its intermediate/advanced level.
For another approach to flowers, La Vie en Fleurs combines Tunisian crochet with cross stitch. Its roses are embroidered onto the fabric rather than formed as granny-square motifs.
